Some May Say I'm Impulsive (Wordless... Friday?)

I say... is that always a bad thing? You're faced with new challenges, new experiences. Good or bad. They help us grow.

What's the most impulsive thing you've ever done?

Did you regret it?

When's the last time you did anything impulsive? Last week? year? Ever?

Note: For those curious, I'll be on-line sporadically over the next 3 weeks. I'll likely post some pics... at odd hours

Hello hyrcan.

Hmm...I'm not sure I'm ready to disclose my most impulsive thing LOL. For the most part, I'm a pretty organized and non-impulsive guy. I suppose one of my worst impulsive experiences was buying a car, though.

I really wanted it, thought I worked out a great deal with the dealership by shaking hands with the salesman and agreed on not only price, but terms (yes, I'm gullible sometimes) and then a couple days later they asked for more money from me.

They explained how the payoff on my old car was only an estimate and not the actual payoff, however, the salesman agreed the price that day was final and they would not call me in a few days asking for more money (already been there done that).

Problem was, I took his word for it and didn't read the contract line by line. Apparently, the contract stated they could call for more money if the car's payoff wasn't 100%.

I argued, but in the end, I had to pay it.

Lesson learned:
Always read your contracts and never sign for work until it's completed.

I can't disclose my most impulsive thing. :)

But usually I'm a control freak and part of it is controlling my impulses.

@John: Ha, I didn't think people would give "THE" most impulsive thing. I know I wouldn't... lol

Contracts, especially those made with car sales people, are pretty important to read... though I wish my boss would learn that, and to never sign for work 'til it's completed.

@Vered: How about most impulsive thing you're willing to share. lol I'm in control most of the time, but I do occasionally let go. Most of the time it's not impulse though, it's procrastination. This time it's a little of both... mostly impulse though. I procrastinated taking a vacation, and have to use up at least 2 weeks before end of next month. The impulse was the answer to "where to go" *shrug* Japan seemed as good as place as any. ;)

Oh dear. I am generally not impulsive, but let's just say that the year I was on my own after my break up I did some pretty impulsive things. We won't get into details, if you don't mind *smile*

Hi Hyrcan,

Great question. Off the top of my head, years ago I quit a good job in California and moved to Alaska. I didn't have a job to go to, but fortunately it worked out and the rest is history.

Now it's your turn. :)
